Re: Radar detectors
Here's my set up. Beltronics Vector 995 on a Techmount. I also have a Bluetooth transmitter that I plug into the headphone jack to send the signals to a receiver I keep in my inside jacket pocket connected to earspeakers.

Re: Radar detectors
It's the MRA smoke double bubble. I think it's the best looking one for the 2017+ SDR and it's very effective in moving the wind blast from my stomach to my head with little or no turbulence.

Re: Radar detectors
I wanted something that would give me audible alerts through my Sena. I found that some of the passport/escort brands can connect to an app on your smartphone and give the alerts along with whatever else you are listening to.
Since I mount my phone on my handlebar I am able to get visual and audible alerts. This then allows me to mount the radar detector inside the rear seat pillion. Just install a hard wire kit back there. Then it connects to the phone via bluetooth.
You do have to keep the Escort live app on the main screen to work but not a big deal since it has 2 different style screens and one of them is a map.

Re: Radar detectors
In my experience, a more apt term would be "ticket detector".
