Pillion Seat cover 2017 superduke looks bad

Post by yohammer » Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:35 am

According the power parts catalog should the 2014/16 pillon seat cover also fit the 2017 Superduke.
Well it fit but it doesn't look like.
Hopefully KTM find a other solution for this.

Looks like it's sitting way too high...can the mounting points be lowered?. I was thinking of getting one for my 2017 SDR but maybe I'll hold off a while

Nice to see the whole sub frame. It looks great. That seat fitment would bug me.

Fuck.

I have one sitting on my work bench waiting for my 17 to arrive, that looks like Rubbish. Is there any way what so ever to modify it?

It doesn't appear you have the retention prongs inserted into the rear of the seat cowl. Looks like the rear of the cowl is laying on top of the prongs.

I realize the 17 rear side cowl fairings are much smaller, but it looks in the picture like you've simply layed it on top.

Here's my 15 for reference, it doesn't fit as snug as I'd like, but it's decent.

Just wondering if you ever got this to fit? i'm having the same issue. The seat cowl fits, but looks like your picture...

It’s a bit bone idle of KTM to fob us off with a pillion seat cover from the previous version SD. Saying that, I went ahead and bought one as it looks better than the pillion seat.

Unfortunately, all the after market carbon alternatives have used the original pillion seat cover as a pattern, so it seems we are lumbered with it.

i have fitted the rear fairings on my 17 which hides the gap shown
you could run a self adhesive type draught excluder along the the edge of seat cowl underneath
to also hide the gap , a 10/15mm neoprene one would be enough and less than a fiver

worth a try .......

The only way for KTM to do anything about this is to bitch and moan to your dealer. I returned mine after seeing the gap was HUGE.

Daft that they wouldn’t make a 17/18 version yet.

Is there a 17/18 specific pass seat cowl released as of yet? or did anyone get one from anyone other than KTM that looks reasonable?
