Best bar end mirrors? And go

Post by Scuba1290 » Fri May 13, 2016 3:34 am

I decided to pick up some cheap bar end mirrors off eBay. They didn't have any weight in the new bar ends like the stock ones. So to kept the weight and attached them to the existing bar ends. The right one only lasted a mile or two before biting the dust. I just went for a quick blast this afternoon and look down, hey where did my left mirror go?

So is there any out there that have a good weighted insert that I don't have to rig to work?

There are a heap on ebay that clamp around the standard bar ends. Problem with the cheap ones is they blow in around 140km. I got sick of it and glued mine where I wanted them, rock solid now good for 270+

Hands down CRG is the way to go. I was hesitant spending 100 a piece at first , but glad I did. I can actually see behind me now. Even at +100 mph...high end mirrors for a high end bike!

I had my stock bar end machined to fit my CRG.
Great mirrors with less buzzing in the hands.

Yup, same here, CRG. Transplanted from my Brutie. I bought some replacement cheapos for the MV and ended up regretting it. Pay peanuts, you get monkeys. May have to break the piggy bank, suck it up and buy the Italian some CRG's too. Funny how many dollars wasted trying to save pennies!

I did the same thing. I took off the Rhinomoto bar ends that were on my old BMW S1000R and had them machined along with the stock KTM bar ends and put on the CRG Lanesplitters that I had. One of the best mods I've done on this bike.

What's the diameter of the machined middle part of the bar end that the crg clamps to?

0.865 x 0.450

I had the CRG inserts already and gave one to the machinist, those are the measurements from the inserts.

These are the cheap ones off ebay. 1500 plus miles, no vibs, no issues with them.

They don't allow you to keep the weights do they?

Was in a Triumph dealer recently, the new Thruxton had a beautiful set of OEM bar-end mirrors. Made inquiries but they couldn't quote price. I believe the Triumph bar is greater in did, too.

Neat solution to turn the existing bar end weights to fit, I was wondering how to keep the hefty KTM weights and still mount the CRGs.
