Re: Loomies
Well that was pleasant enough. The bike only cut out five or six times in all, and the roadworks on the A3 were an unexpected delight. Baffles me how shit some people are at filtering, I can't remember ever having to beep a bike to get out of my way before.
30 minutes late getting home, but the TT race was delayed by 45 minutes thanks to an accident just before they closed the roads, so I didn't miss the start. Neal's number on the 10R is 77.

Re: Loomies
How are you watching it ogden? Or listening to it? Not on regular TV as far as I can make out.
Nice run.

Re: Loomies
Highlights are on ITV4 at 9pm each night.
For live coverage all that's on offer is the radio commentary and live timing.

http://ttlive.iomtt.com/
If you're there on the island you end up listening to the radio to find out what's going on anyway, as the leaders only go past once every 18 minutes or so.

Re: Loomies
Watching the race now, the on-bike footage is making my eyes boggle.

Re: Loomies
Might be out to play on Sunday. Not decided yet whether to head for Loomies, Avebury or do a loop via Aylesbury.
Anyone feeling restless? Forecast is cold and miserable, should be a hoot.

Re: Loomies
If it's dry (fat chance, I know), then I might, just might be tempted for a last run before I clean it and put it away for the winter. But I'm a wuss, so I may well dip out at the last minute. Loomies or Avebury would be ok, depends on time though as I have to take other half in to work so not home until 11.00.

Re: Loomies
The bike tops out at about 140 with standard gearing and a strong grip on the bars. You should make lunch just about anywhere West of Norwich and South of Chester.

Re: Loomies
Have you tried The Departure Lounge just outside Alton on the A339 Basingstoke road?
https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client=s ... =6&iwloc=A
It is a very good biker friendly establishment and the A339 is a good ride, then South down the A32 to Loomies past Bahnstormers BMW which has a cafe too. As long as your bladder's OK
I could be up for it or a combination of similar.

Re: Loomies
I don't really mind where we go; I'm starting from Putney, near you ogden.
We can meet up Sunday your place if you like? Not too early eh.
What route would you like to take?

Re: Loomies
Haven't picked a route yet, may be further north or west than Loonies. Assume 9am from mine and I'll post something here later.

Re: Loomies
May not be at Loomies at all, depending on the route I pick. I just knew the usual suspects would get a notification if I posted under this topic.

Re: Loomies
Thinking something like this: http://goo.gl/maps/GVgb9
Passing Box Hill about 9.30am, stopping at Loomies about 11am, Wantage about 1.30pm, and back to Alton around 3pm. Or a bit later if anyone needs to eat more than a twix while refuelling.

Re: Loomies
To Avoid the A34 / A303 from Winchester to Andover. The route from Winchester via Stockbridge and up A3057 is more fun. I'll be at Loomies for about 11, will be good to meet some of yus.

Re: Loomies
I'll tweak it a bit.
Last time I did a route like this I went on via Stockbridge to Salisbury and over the plain to Devizes and Avebury, but at this time of year that's a recipe for running out of daylight.
All I need to do now is not get shitfaced tonight. Place bets now...

Oh, and I'll try and remember to bring that cut-down screen with me. Be good to get some crap out of the garage.

Re: Loomies
That would be great
. I am planning on taking loads of measurements and photos at the NEC of various bikes flyscreens and fixings
