Service indicator.

Post by Rockojo » Wed Aug 14, 2019 8:36 pm

I just hit the 1st service interval 620 miles and went ahead and did it myself . I didn’t get any kind of warning light or indication like I was expecting at 620 mile mark. When I go into the service menu it shows miles or Km and months but nothing down just the ... like it wasn’t programmed. Anyone else experience this ? It’s a 2019 SD GT w/ TFt screen !!!

G'day again,

Not sure about the 19 TFT, but my 17 style could be reset using the LH switchblock buttons. There is a thread on here somewhere, but I think i remember how to do it.......

Hold both up and down buttons until the screen changes, then select what you need from that screen and (foggy recall now) enter new figures etc as needed.

It may be totally different on the TFT version...... have a look on another forum like 'KTM forum' or 'Adventure Rider' - someone has posted by now as the 19's have been out all year in Europe.

Yea , I tried that but it never goes into service mode. Tried a few others too but same thing. No prob though, it’s at the dealer right now and they will take care of it. Thanks

I just reset my 17GT service indicator as I changed my own oil yesterday.... but it is different to the 19 model.

While I was in 'settings' I held both arrow keys down until the screen changed and I could enter my new service info (I change my oil every 5000kms, so I use that for my service alert).

I have read somewhere about how to do the 19 TFT service - but can't recall where.... maybe it was in the SDR section or over on the KTM forum.

The KTM shop will probably set it to 15000km/9000miles and 12 months anyway, so it shouldn't annoy you and yu can still do an oil change in-between (just read the manual- it's easy but not straight forward- and believe me your oil will not last 15k kms/9000mls...... it will be worn out well before 10,000kms/6000mls for FS).

Make sure you do not use racing double esthers unless you intend to change them every 5000kms(3000mls?) or sooner, because they do not have any long-life polymers (not required for racing) and will not provide full protection for longer road riding oil change intervals.
