My first KTM

Post by Afrankart » Mon Aug 27, 2018 3:04 am

I took delivery of a new '17 GT on Thursday and I couldn't be happier with it. My wife even enjoys riding pillion on it more than the Yamaha FZ1 it replaced.

I can't wait to get these break in miles done and see what this thing really has...

Welcome newbie........

Oh boy, you'll enjoy that motor, it just pulls so hard....... can't help but smile when you open the taps up :D

After a few rides you might feel the slightly tallish gearing gets in the way of easy cruising in town speed limits/traffic etc....... if so, fit a 40 tooth rear sprocket (15mins - it's a quick change system).

I am also about to fit the SW Motech - Givi side rack to mine...... the oem cases are good, but only 30Ltrs capacity which is a bit small for two up & luggage........ so if you haven't splashed out on KTM (Shad) cases yet, have a think about what you will be doing (long trips 2+..... or quick weekenders)....... I'll post some before and after pics of both systems soon in the accessories section........

Cheers from Aus
