Engine flush or not?

Post by Hardyrider » Wed Jul 11, 2018 6:57 pm

What the general feeling on doing an engine flush?

I’ve recently bought this mint 2012 SMT from a local KTM dealer full KTM history but it came with 48k on the clock, I’m not worried as the book is all stamped up by the same dealer who originally sold it to the one owner who in turn traded it in for a 1290 Adventure - sweet.

Anyway just for peace of mind I’m doing a full oil and filter change and obviously clean all screens etc, then I have a 100% time stamp of when it was done (peace of mind).

So my question is, do I do an engine flush too, and if so what do people use or if not why?

There is nothing wrong with the engine, no knocks, crunches I just want to give it some lovely fresh 10w50 fully synthetic blood to go on with. ImageImage

What do you mean by flushing it ?

I reckon an oil/filter change would be enough.
