Where is the horn?

Post by jjscsix » Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:20 pm

I looked around the bike this morning and have not found the horn. I want to replace it with the Denali Mini.

Thanks

Hi jjscsix
It's up behind the radiator LHS of the bike.
Tricky place to find.look up from under the handlebars

Well, I found it. Blocked by the fuel tank equalizer line. Now to figure out where to mount the Denali Mini. Looks like a tight fit where the stock horn is, and I want it more out in the open. I’ll figure something out, but I’m open to any suggestions.

If you look further back In the posts there is a write up about fitting horn on the side of the motor
As horn dosen't "beep beep" when hot against the radiator

I saw those threads. I’m hesitant to bolt the horn to the engine for a variety of reasons. I actually looked at the threaded boss when I went out and found the horn. I won’t rule it out, but I’m pretty good at finding creative solutions.

Thanks for all the help you provide on this forum. There is not a lot of traffic here.

Looking forward to any creative solutions (along with photos of course ;-) you come up with as this is a mod I was considering as well. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of places on the bike though. Good luck.

I will keep you posted. I'm not in a big hurry on this project. I'm going to order both the horn and a set of Denali LED driving lights at the same time, but am balancing some other expenses right now. I hope to do it in the next month or two at the most.

When getting my 1000Km service i mentioned to the mechanic that the horn wouldn't work when the engine was running and hot, they moved it to be in front of the radiator.
