Instructions/manual for soft panniers?

Post by Irn-Bru » Sat Jan 27, 2018 9:59 pm

Finally managed to get the Powerparts panniers but would like the manual if anyone knows where to find it? Curious about the max weight and also what the tiny Velcro pockets are for, stuff like that.

Cheers

If you're talking about stock bags, I've never seen a weight limit, just volume spec of 13L each. Owners manual doesn't say nothing either.

Velcro pockets are your waterproof bags.

Before getting Gobi's, I took these on a few thousand kms trips, loaded with heavy camping/cooking equipment and never had any issues.

I just got lucky too as local shop had NOS, they were getting rid of for C$125. My original ones were all weathered.

Yep, the stock ones. I got my bike second hand without the bags till now.

Just thought they might come with separate instructions. Don't see how the tiny velcro pouches have much to do with the waterproof bags? Them bags themselves seem a big strange, probably lose a lot of space due to having to fold them over. Have yet to test them out, weather is still awful but got some tours planned this year.

No, the tiny Velcro pouches are to house the locks when not being used.

Have yours got the locking release inside? If not, try and find a lock Kit as it means you can lock them to the bike. It’s basically the same mechanism you use to get them off the bike, only inside the bags and then when you lock them, a would be thief cannot access the release handle
