Today I removed the pillion pegs from the 1290 SDR - it's not as if anyone's ever gonna sit back there anyway...
The left one was easy, of course. The right involved propping up the can and was a bit more of a pain in the arse.
And now, I don't like how the right side looks, with that big-arse bracket at a "weird" angle.
I guess I'm shopping for an exhaust hanger...

Where did you get your WP decals from? I have different WP decals the previous owner put on but I prefer those ones. I ordered some from eBay but they turned up and looked shit. Layered design and a top layer to seal meant it just had a shit load of air bubbles.

They were from Ebay and I believe the company was Flu designs. They have are orange too instead of red. They were meant to wrap around the fork but I just cut them out. I had to cut "cone valve" off. But they look good.

Today I put the SE lever guards back on the 1290, and tightened up the mirrors; I've had the gate enwidened so the wider bars will fit and I shouldn't have to do any mirror-folding...

Said Good Bye for the 13th time. Let's see now KTM said they would send my check for the buy back of my 1190 R 2016 in 2 weeks. One more day equals 14 days or 2 weeks. Then by the time they cut the check and sign it and put it in a envelope and give to mail carrier I assume I will receive it by 2018! That is if their administrative department is a functional as their service and their customer support!!! What a joke this adventure line has become. Stick to Dirt bikes KTM.

I'm a happy customer, but it's hard to deny (and such a shame...) that they have severe customer service issues.

today i fitted Palmer screen (medium), SW Motech TRAX EVO 37L side cases and
Renthal FatBar 822-01 KTM Low handlebars

Image

Image

the renthal handlebars do not have holes for controlls, so i grind off the nipples which fit in those holes (if i find the controls, i'll put some non-slippery adhesive tape on the handlebars where the controls mount). Cables are long enough (I do not have any risers)

As for the panniers - the only downside is that the passanger has very limited foot space(can not tiptoe) and
the upper mount is quite close to the passanger handle.

for the palmer screen pls refer to this topic

Finally got rid of the ugly-arse front fork reflectors yesterday.
Whoever on here suggested dental floss must have been having a laugh though - it didn't even look like shifting the sticky pad...
But it was easy enough in the end: a wadded up rag on the fork leg to protect it and act as a fulcrum, and they levered off with a screwdriver blade, without leaving a mark...

Not yet. Only the one from the dealer's ad, so this is what it looked like before I bought it:
WB10D0301GZ455278_01_DL_121016_1.jpg
It's still completely standard at the moment, having only just arrived. It's the top-end model with all the goodies, but there's not much to actually look at, other than a wire poking out of the top of one fork leg and a little black box attached to the rear shock.

I'll take a couple once I've fitted my manky old KTM luggage on it - if that doesn't get me a lifetime ban from the owner's club, god knows what will... ;)

Rode it like I stole it! Left all my cares (and a lot of rubber, apparently...) in the 10-mile.
I just can't see how people would prefer to pull it apart and "improve" it when it shreds like this already ;)
