2018 gt new spec

Post by pk1 » Sun Dec 03, 2017 1:33 pm

Just ordered a gt at the reduced price :D to good a deal to pass on, just had a look at the configuration on ktm website,
http://www.ktm.com/gb/sports-tourer/129 ... %20Exhaust
the new black model is shown with the new split headlight and cruise control on the left, but the same dash/ instrument cluster as the 17 model.
My local dealer said it was only a colour change??
Still happy with the deal I got. On the configurator with the spec I’ve ordered it was £18300 that’s 6 k more than I’ve paid .
Just got to sell my smt now, will wait to spring for a better price

Funnily enough ive just chopped my SMT in for a GT due to the deal they had on!
Talking to the KTM guys at the NEC show they confirmed that it was only a colour change for 2018 and the ones in the 18 colours at the show looked the same as the 17 in all other respects. But as you say, on the configurator it does show a different light??????
Unintentional sneak peak at the 19 update perhaps!

There was a write-up on the '8 GT in yesterday's MCN and the said it would have the full colour dash from the 1290 SA S.

I read that, not sure to be pleased I have the 17 version or jealous of the more likely to go faulty 19 version..

Talked to my KTM dealer in Asheville, NC. They said the 2018 model most likely will not be coming to them & possibly not released in the USA. Glad I went with the 2017 SDGT. Best,

Doc :D :D

When i was at the NEC show the other week KTM confirmed the only change to the 18 GT was paint and the 2 18 bikes they had on display had the 17 style light.
I guess we will only know for sure when the 18s hit the showroom!

2019 model will have dash - led light - auto blip - reworked suspension - 4 rider modes - additional engine Tweeks - slighlty different bodywork - screen - price will be towards £17000

I wonder when the "2019" models will arrive at the dealers? Usually late Summer\early Autumn?
