Hand guards

Post by razteo » Mon Oct 12, 2015 11:27 pm

Scratched my both hand guards on my 2010 SMT and I'm looking to replace them.
What to use? OEM ones or aftermarket? Where to get the OEM ones (except the dealer)? Any other suggestions?

These are carbon covered and fiberglass underneath. I will let you know when they come in and I get them on. I saw them on a SMT for sale in Atlanta and stumbled across ECC Racing. They ship from Hong Kong, I know sketchy. But for $167.00 I will take my chances. I knew when I ordered them that they were not 100% carbon so I dont have high expectations lol.

they seem steep, but how much for the OEM plastic ones? Anybody knows?
I called the dealer, and they have such a bad customer service, I couldn't get a price over the phone.

They came in today and put them on. Look good but you can tell they aren't of great quality.

They do look good!

But the quality doesn't match the looks? In what way, the finish, or say, thickness of the material?

Kirishima the OEM hand guards are very flexible and fit well and these ones i had a hard time mounting to the bars as the angle isnt perfect. They look good and should be just fine, you can just tell they are "Made in china"

Here is a late response to anyone still looking for replacement hand guards. I put Acerbis on mine. Aluminum frame with the plastic guard attached. Really nice form and function. They are also vented. I paid 140$ US.
