The Skidmarx chain guard overhangs the rear most point of the rear sprocket by a couple of inches, so I reckon it's getting on for 5" longer. I'll try to check them side by side.
The hugger itself is about 30cms longer, it covers the top of the tyre.

Hopefully a picture should be oon this posting to show my bike.
I fitted spacers under two mountng points after this shot was taken so the hugger is even tighter to the tyre now.
Note it is painted matt black to match the side panels. Standard is a glossy black finish.

Matt black painted Skidmarx hugger & side panels w/white decals.

I just recieved my skidmarx hugger, the postage to the land down under was 70 pounds :!: I installed it to check for fit, I did'nt think the gloss finish would suit. It stuck out like third testicle, so refinishing was definetly on the adgenda.

The inside was a rough fibreglass finish, I thought it would hold road grime. So that needed to be cleaned up. I started with 80 grit to remove the worst of the protruding fibres. I purchased a can of spray putty and gave the inside a thick coating. I again sanded it back with 80 grit this process was repeated 3 times (until the can was empty) on the final sanding of the inside of the hugger I progressed to finer grades of paper 80,120,240,400,800 then it was ready for painting both outside and inside surfaces.

The surface of the inside was 95% cleaned up of inperfections that was good enough for me as no one was going to see it and it would no longer hold mud ect. I also removed all sharp edges while sanding. I finished it in matt black, it looks great :D

If its like the Redfox hugger on my VFR, I would not bother. That has started to crack where it flexes.
I had to make repairs to prevent further damage.

+1

I'll fit mine tomorrow. I sprayed the inside black rather than leave that greyness after a little rub down with wet and dry.

I have installed a Skidmark hugger, thought it got sprayed statin black to match my 2010 bike.
Found the fit was not very good, needed spacing out in two places, though once done it looks neat and pretty much like it might have been standard

Mine fitted like a glove, did you put the hugger under or over the chain guide block?
