Post by shaun-m » Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:26 pm

Anyone else got riding planned this weekend? I'm off to the isle of man for a few days riding on some great roads. Details to follow when I get back. :D
Fingers crossed for decent weather!

Going round Wales on Sunday meself with a lad from the Shropshire border promising me hidden jems. Sounds pervy but I think he means roads.

Had a nice ride over to Heysham on Friday, via Leyburn, Hawes n Sedburgh, stopped at Devils bridge for a cuppa on the way. Met the rest of the group at the ferry terminal. Blah blah. Hotel in Douglas, dumped bags, tt course :D . Done 1 lap and most went back to the hotel, I filled up and went round again. Brilliant. Trying to imagine how it feels travelling at race speed.
Saturday was lashing down all day, so a few of us had a sightseeing ride round the island, still good fun until my jacket finally gave up and leaked :( . By that time we'd had enough anyway. Hotel, shower, gear on radiators, bar.
Sunday started the same, wet n windy. By 9am I was getting cabin fever! 10:30 the rain stopped. Gear on, top box loaded, on the bike and off to fill up. First lap was wet till I reached the east side where it was sunny n dry, the mountain was a different story, FOG!! Visibility down to 30-40 metres at best, not nice. Second lap was improving, roads drying nicely, still fairly quiet. Fog had lifted over much of the mountain with just the run from the bungalow to Kate's cottage still in gloom. That was pretty much all I had time for apart from a nip along to pay my respects at Fairy bridge before topping the bike up and heading to the ferry terminal.
Landed at Liverpool, 5:30ish, m6 home, yuk, tebay for a pee, brough, barnard castle, bishop Auckland, home, shower, chicken Balti, bed. Ill wash the bike tomorrow.

Conti Road attack rear, sport front mate. Soon as them free Michelins come I'm flogging them and getting more Contis.
If you get them and don't like them I'll take them off your hands nice and cheap like :D

I've got pr3s on mine and I'm happy enough with them. What pressures are you using?
