First dry ride of the year

Post by budgesrsv » Mon Mar 10, 2014 7:19 pm

Had a great day out with a few friends yesterday, first dry ride of the year and first ride with the misus on pillion since last year :D Not sure what happened to the sunshine we were supposed to have but it was great to be out on dry roads again. Breakfast at Glasson Dock, stop at Bull Beck, brew at Settle and stop at Ravi Barn then home for tea. Yee haa spring has arrived

Anything less than three inches of rain counts as dry up there.

Was this your ride Budgie ? :). Google can't find "Ravi Barn" though.

PS/ It's amasing how many English towns have been recycled to form Australian/Scottish towns. Harrogate is near me too :).. and I windsurfed at Ardrossan the other week :)

Ha Ha no wonder you can't find it typo error :? Rivington Barn, its a popular bike meet near home, a couple of hundred bikes there on a sunny Sunday. There are lots of place names replicated in Aus and USA probably homesick Brits back in colonial days, I bet they are a good bit warmer and drier than here though  The name sounds like you are an ex pat ?

Yeah, I'm from Stanford-le-Hope. Came out here when I was 10. I was able to get a visa based on my chimney sweeping occupation . I've still got a strong cockney accent I've never been able to get rid of.

Almost a year to the day had my first dry ride of 2015 today :D Nowhere exciting really just a bimble over to Southport Carousel and back via Parbold Hill. New pads bedded in nicely and all air bled from brake and clutch lines. Just need the oil and filter changing and were ready for summer !

Funny you said that. I've just regoed my bike today after nearly 3.5 months. Did the brakes yesterday. Went for a quick blat tonight. Will do the oil/filter tomorrow, and then for some riding on the long weekend. It feels good to be in the saddle again ! :D
