Heat Shield and luggage bracket removal 2013 ktm smT 990

Hello Everyone,

New to this site.
Just purchased a new 2013 990 SMT (only 2500km on it) Great ride, lots of fun. Bike has FMF exhaust and I would like to remove the heat shield and luggage holder rack for a cleaner look. Can anyone please advise on how to do so and can I just re attach the luggage rack at a later time if I go on a trip? Also, does anyone who has already done this know if the lack of heat shields affect the passenger?
Would be grateful for any advice on this.

The heat shield is held on by the luggage rack. The whole setup is held on by the two bolts on each side. Remove the bolts and the side rack and heat shield comes off.

I run my Wings exhaust with racks ON, shield off, and my wife never complains about heat.
