Modify Stock Cans,Mufflers

Post by Gunnar » Wed Feb 13, 2013 5:48 pm

I just bought a 2012 SMT and have had a lot of motorcycles. Instead of everyone paying $600 to $1600 of aftermarket exhaust has anyone cut the top and bottom of the stock mufflers, gutted them to nothing inside, weld them back together and put them back on. You could leave the stock tip on or take it off to get a louder sound. I have raced quite a few bikes and this has worked on the rice burners. Anyone try this!!!

Ive picked up a set of standard cans to modify. Ive looked thru Kevs mod book but cant see any details on doing the job. was gonna cut the flange end off and try and gut it that way. How did you do yours joel b? have you put a recording on the net anywhere?
