Akrapovic Noise Reduction Insert

Post by motoyoyo » Thu Jun 28, 2018 6:48 pm

I bought a used 2010 SMT with Akrapovic exhaust marked M-KTMB02 that have no dbkillers (noise reduction inserts). I am trying to figure out how to find some to buy, but there is no information about this exhaust on either the Akrapovic or any KTM websites that I can find. They are the 48mm round style, angled pipe style inserts.

I know Akrapovic sells various exhaust inserts, but I have never seen any insert part number cross reference to actual exhaust part numbers. I have basically given up searching at this point. So strange how both KTM and Akrapovic completely abandon these slightly out of date products. Does anyone have any info on these inserts or exhaust?

PipeWerx make some aftermarket ones. They’re listed on eBay UK. Not sure about your side.

Thanks for the info. That would definitely work. I haven't seen anything like that Stateside. I'll check what it would cost to have a pair sent over here.

They do different angles so check your pipes with a protractor

I contacted Jeff at Pipe Werx and he can ship to the US for a decent price. Unfortunately, the EU standard for this exhaust insert is a 47mm OD and my Akrapovic is 48mm OD, which would make this one too loose. The good news is that he can make a custom pair of 48mm inserts for just a bit more. I will double check the angle, but that is likely the same for this bike. Thanks again for the link.
