Thinking of a 990SMT- advice appreciated

Post by owdgit » Tue Mar 12, 2019 10:48 am

I'm looking to buy my first KTM for commuting (that's what I've told SWMBO ) and I'm leaning towards a 990SMT for around £4-5k and was wondering if you have any advice on what to look out for and what to avoid.
I've got an old Fireblade but don't want to commute on that..
Cheers for any advice

No major issues on 990 bikes. Clutch master and slave cylinders leak, water pump, seized rear wheel alignment bolts. Check as any other bike, service log etc. These bikes need proper servicing-on time.
Look through teething problems section here to see common or uncommon issues.
