KTM paddock stand

Post by BillyRay123 » Sun Jan 14, 2018 9:34 pm

Hi all,

Excuse the naive question...when the superduke gt is left in a garage for a period say 2-4 weeks do you use a paddock stand or leave on the side stand... what is the best option for longer term storage?

Many thanks
Billy

ABBA!!

ABBA!! They make a great products. Known for their Sky Lifts ( https://abbastandsusa.com/product-detai ... ift&pid=44 ). A bit expensive for me so, the ABBA Center stand is what I use when working on my KTM SDGT or for gargage storage. ( https://abbastandsusa.com/product-detai ... and&pid=31 ). Best,

Doc :D :D

Side stand for me, i only use the KTM supplied rear axle stand when working on the bike.
2016 1290GT-remus link and muffler, 2010 Black 1200 Multistrada full Termi system with mapping, 2005 SMR 640, full Titanium system, Mikuni flatside racing carb, 2 sets of wheels, 18 litre tank, and a nice soft seat.

Agreed...... I used to stick mine up on the ss rear stand (to make space) but one day I noticed how springy it was with a near full tank of fuel.......and started to wonder what might happen if the ss rear stand ever broke.

Since I'm scratching for space in my over crowded garage.....I'm using the rear paddock stand again, but have wedged a block of wood under the rear wheel to make it feel more secure......just for ease of mind...... ;)

Wish I had the ABBA stand instead of the front and rear paddock style stands - one stand to do the work of two 8-)

Thanks for the advice, sound like always...read somewhere that the ktm stands can be dodgy so was inclined to buy the KTM single swing arm stand which seems to hold the bike securely, but think I’ll belt and brace it with some timber.

Regards
Billy

Pit Bull stands are second to none. I always keep my tires off the ground if I'm not riding it.

Abba skylift, yes pricey and a bit cumbersome but quite versital. Worth the money. Wife was watching me shopping, checking stand prices and surprised me with mine. IMO best for the garage....
