you say original KTM handguards but is there a specific model they are for? I bought puig handguards and tbh i'm not that impressed with them.

Another option could be the Acerbis Dual Road guards......they are minimal though and you may want larger coverage for really wet cold conditions......but they look great and are easy to fit and have colour options.
Due to the Gt instruments being fairing mounted (ie not bar mounted like the SD-R) the more robust hand protectors (with crash bar) won't clear the dash at full lock. So look for the bar-end mounting kit options.
There's probably more around now (I haven't been looking since I fitted the Acerbis).
