Tires

Post by Steel32 » Tue Feb 07, 2017 8:06 pm

I will be going on a road trip with my buddies next weekend. Will be riding from Las Vegas to San Francisco. To prepare for it, I would like to replace my 2014 KTM Super Duke's motocycle tires. What brand can you recommend?

For that type of ride..in Feb...pilot road 4's. After all, it's been pretty soggy in here in CA. I have them on my SMT right now and will probably replace them with the same since they've been such a good compromise. Plenty of good tires out there though.

I rode two sets of Dunlop RoadSmart 3. Good tires but the they have some stability issues at high speed. My new tires are the Continental Road Attack 3. Best tires ever. Tons of grip on high speed cornering (also in the rain). Very impressive stability on high speed. 220 km/h fully packed with panniers without any issue.

Metzler M7RRs, great tires, I've fitted 3 sets on my 1290R and now on my first set on the 1290GT, I've done track days on them, all sorts of road riding, pouring rain and 2up. Great all round tire, and much much better than the Angels for dry grip, and similar in the wet.
2016 1290GT-remus link and muffler, 2010 Black 1200 Multistrada full Termi system with mapping, 2005 SMR 640, full Titanium system, Mikuni flatside racing carb, 2 sets of wheels, 18 litre tank, and a nice soft seat.
