ABBA Skylift stand

Post by Aussie Dave » Tue Jun 26, 2018 6:58 am

 Hi all, was just looking aimlessly at forum pics of GT mods/accessories and wham bam - a pic of an ABBA sky lift stand took my breath away.

Google it......... it's amazing......... prob expensive, but so totally capable. Looks a lot easier to operate than my front and rear KTM copy stands and the whole lot can be rolled away if you have to clear the work area.

I'm impressed......... how bout others......... anybody got one?

Ps Just googled to check I spelled it right and looked at a video about stand weaknesses...... Pit Bull was the sponsor but it was very informative. Got me thinking my stands are hard to lever into place (well, the rear is a grunt job but the front is easy)......... so take care buying stands - have a look at the safety clip from Pit Bull stands for info. ;)

These are mine Dave, rear is a KTM stand, and the front is one i ve had for over 10 years or more from my 999 days. both easy to operate, but the bike remains stationery. I have a dedicated motorbike man cave so no problem.

Superdave99,

Would you please post some pictures of the bikes fram mount for the SkyLift. I have the SW-Motech crash/ protection bars ( https://sw-motech.com/bike/KTM/1290SDGT ... 045121.htm ). Want to make sure if I get one the mount to the Sky-Lift will still work/ fit. Have their ABBA center stand & it works great ( https://abbastandsusa.com/product-detai ... and&pid=31 ). Best,

Doc :? :?

The lift pins go in the marked area on both sides. Then a pin for the rear (wheelie mode) dont think the crash protection bars will interfere. Hope that helps.

I have the regular ABBA lift, with the attachment for front wheel lift. Much less expensive than the Sky Lift, but still gives me the ability to change my own tires.

Cheers all.

My "La Corsa" stands look just like KTM oem stands but the rear takes a lot of grunt to lift (even with low fuel and no luggage on), so it must not be engineered as well as the orange stuff - and it has a small amount of spring to it if I provoke a wiggle ;) ..... bloody pacemakers come with limits to heavy lifting........ :( .. so I might have to use a different stand in future.

I probably don't have the space for an ABBA skylift...... but it is clever, even though it has to be pumped up to height....... wish I had a dedicated 'man cave' for the bikes 8-)

Those SW Motec crash bars look neat too......... hmmmm, what can I spend..... errr, pending my return to riding
