Must admit I love mine !
Didn't break off or anything nasty at 160 m.p.h. and I find it much better than the original offering, I got real bad headache across my forehead with std screen. No probs now. I'm 5'8" ( well I was until the spine-shortening rear shock came into my life, so I could be a bit less now!)so I guess its each to his own.

G'day all,

My Puig screen arrived today (1 week) and has been fitted already...... 8-)

I had agonised over light smoke or dark tint.......but the thing looks great (biased, I know - but it does!)......maybe the dark tint might have been better.......arghhh.....it's on and ready for a ride in the morning

I think an earlier post mentioned the holes didn't line up.... and I initially thought I had the same problem, but the upper mounts line'd up perfectly, and the lower holes just required a gentle push/flex to get the screws to line up.

It is slightly heavier than OEM but feels fine and my concerns with the KTM mounts are forgotten.....

I can attach my MRA X-creen sport shield via it's trick clamp-on mounts instead of drilling holes - but I'll give it a good try in 'naked' form first.......the X-creen will tidy up any turbulence and make the slipstream arch higher if needed.......or I'll probably mount it anyway as I paid heaps for it so I might as well use it...... ;)

Anyway, that's about the final item required to complete my "Grand Tourer"......(he says as his inner accountant is listening.......  .....).....but there is other stuff......ok, ok, after I fit the K & N air-filter sitting on the workbench......

Cheers all.. :D
Ps....when SD Moto said they pack in oversized cartons....they meant it! The screen arrived in a strong SW Motech carton.....and had no damage - though they could have used some air bag or bubble wrap instead of a piece of cardboard support shielding.......but it worked fine..... 8-)

PPs......apology - not in the USA......but WTF.....Puig is a Spanish manufacturer, and if the US KTM dealerships (or Revzilla etc) can't offer a good price/delivery, then hop online to France (sdmoto-parts.com)......how's that for international relation's.....

Not so fugly when it is displayed in the lowest setting.......agreed.....dark tint is the go ;) ......but the light tint is fine tooo.........darnit wish I had seen your pics a week ago....

anyway, I've been out fer a 200km ride with my Puig and I'm happy with it - it performs as stated by Puig and I've just installed my X-creen sport wing onto it ready to test tomorrow.

Yep, that works fine 8-) The Puig was good in naked trim, but my expensive little shelf ornament (X-creen sport) does help tidy the slipstream enough to allow me to leave the Puig in the lowest position and have only the rush of clean air hitting my upper visor.

I got busy and mounted the X-creen properly (a bit lower than the multi-fit clamps would allow.....gotta keep 'the looks' just right eh  ).

So this lets me enjoy protected air by just leaning forward slightly (or riding faster... ) in the lowest setting, so when the going gets tough (rain & tempest etc) I can crank the screen up another 7cm and hide behind it (just below eye level)........ 8-).... today was a good test - 6DegC - heated grips on setting 2 ;) - very happy to have the cold air flowing past my helmet instead of striking my upper chest

I'd say if you can spare the extra $, buy the Puig Touring c/w the adjustable wing spoiler fitted.....not cheap, but it does improve the airflow....and you won't have to fek around drilling holes like I just did... ;)

Wish I could say that was my girl in the poster.....miss August......yeah.....nice

I'm 5'10 and I felt the same way. took it off and went back to stock and I think it's much better. I'll part with mine for 1/2 price plus shipping if anyone wants it. it's clear.

Thought that was my missus... but nope, glasses do not always help ;-) Do these screens really make that much difference?

Cheers Mick, the taller screen is probably not that big a deal unless you have brutally cold or wet weather to slosh around in.

I put my oem clear screen back on for the Aussie summer...... the tinted Puig deflects air at my forehead (I'm about 5' 9.5") in the lowest position - that creates some 'normal' wind rush that my ear plugs handle. I would probably only use the high setting in heavy rain or alpine cold riding.

The oem screen is pretty good.......I'd have been happy with a tinted version but figured the taller Puig might give me more options in winter - just be warned not to get tricked into over tightening the rubber washers if you choose Puig.......I faaarked up and didn't realise until too late - and now I have wisker cracks to look at to remind me.......when I put the Pug on I don't use the rubber washers and I swap the long screws to the short metal top mounts, so I cannot ever over tighten the acrylic (I use adhesive furniture pads instead of the thick rubber Puig washers so it all fits nicely and sits loose-ish).

Oh yeah, the Puig screen is in your eyesight too if that is a factor...... the oem screen is not so noticeable.
