Remus midpipe

Post by bigman32hockey » Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:30 am

So I'm thinking of ditching the cat and putting on a Remus midpipe. For now I will be keeping the stock silencer. I want to wait and see what's available next Spring. Has anyone here done something similar? How do you get around the exhaust servo motor giving the MTC Failure when you remove exhaust valve? I see that Healtech makes an exhaust valve servo eliminator, but haven't been able to read about anyone using one on the GT.

To my knowledge no one presently makes a servo eliminator for the GT. The Remus mid pipe for the GT comes with a piece that takes the place of the cables on the servo so when you remove the cat/valve the bike still thinks its there. No MTC failure. I have installed and works great.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. When you install the mid pipe with the stock silencer, do you still need to have the bike mapped?

I have a Motohooligan intake and the Remus mid pipe and would like to have a remap but presently there are no options available at this time. KTM apparently is coming out with something soon. Presently with my setup I have no error codes for running lean. End of season here so hopefully something by spring.

My Remus link pipe and muffler are now fitted to the GT, prob another month away for the parts from KTM, and thats if they have them in stock, so nice feeling putting parts back on the bike after pulling damaged bits off. can't wait to fire it up to see what she sounds like.

Is it damaging to the engine to run the mid pipe and stock can without a remap? From what I've read there is currently no remap for the GT.

Im not sure, i just got mines first service, and the guys at the bike shop didn't seem to worried, I'm not going to do any air box mods until some mapping comes out tho, i think an open free flowing air filter would be one step too far. The GT seems quite lean any way, probably to get through E4.

did anyone get a check engine light from the remus pipe? I put on the bodin pipe and it gives me a check engine light... kind of irritating

Nothing for me, i did get a fault code come up, but after fiddling with the little cam positioning, she's all good, the little cam comes with the remus link pipe, it replaces the origonal cam that pulls the valve cables.

i got the mtc failure also but i can fix that...the check engine light is separate...are you saying you received a check engine light from the exhaust valve or just the mtc failure?

I just got the MTC failure, i have never had any other lights light up, but when i lowered my tire pressures to 34f and 36r i got the warning flashing, low tire pressure. i can get away with 34f and 37r with no warning. Im just reading the manual to see what the "check engine light" is.

It looks jist like the one in a car..Nothing even on it in the service manual..everything says to use ktm diagnostic tool. the service manual does say to run it ten minutes on idle when the bike is first started up but i also did that.

Im wondering if the service light was a lean condition that could have gone away after letting it idle but maybe its a latching alarm and cant go away without being cleared by the ktm tool

you have to run it on idle for 10 mins to ECU to reset and you should be alright. didnt have anything since i put it on. i wouldnt worry about it, its probably a false alarm
