Suspension

Post by J biker » Mon May 01, 2017 7:22 pm

Seem to have had an epiphany with 1290GT this weekend.
Out on Saturday 2 up, set the suspension to 2 peeps and sport. Lovely. Suprised to find both me and the missus prefer the comfort, handling etc to the GS and Multistrada of previous. Wasnt expecting that.

Set suspension back to 1 rider, luggage, sport this morning and done 320 miles including Dalveen pass, St Marys Loch and some other nice bits road. Everything seems to be working well. Thrashed the bike back the last 80-90 miles and it just gets better and better. 3rd gear, 4th gear wheelies with a hand full of throttle, drop in to a corner and do it again.
2340 miles now. All works better with miles. Riding it like I stole it seems to be the way forward.

I prefer Street mode (suspension), 2 people and gear setting for the 2 of us JBiker, and when I'm on my own and just having an enjoyable spirited ride i go for Street 1 person and gear, if I'm out with the boys (Panigale 1299S riders) I'm in Sport mode just in case. Oh and the power mode is always in Sport, even in the rain, Fuk neutering the beast.
2016 1290GT-remus link and muffler, 2010 Black 1200 Multistrada full Termi system with mapping, 2005 SMR 640, full Titanium system, Mikuni flatside racing carb, 2 sets of wheels, 18 litre tank, and a nice soft seat.

i use sport mode on motorway and street mode usually riding conditions only using comfort if its raining.
the only thing is i always (90% of the time ) ride 2 up and i hate the diving of the suspension when you brake hard. But you dont have that on Street mode. Street mode is the best semi actively working mode.

both sport and comfort digs in like a marshmallow, which i think in sports riding its a positive to be able to get in the corner quicker . still finding the street mode more harder then sports may be its me .
