I think there are alot of them in Ktm head quarters and because they cant sell them i think they will have the update on them too.

The GT is already euro 4 so i dont think it will get too many internal changes , it will get auto blipper better suspension, may have another side panels and head light will be change also , cruise control and the dash will change. 2018 will be EU and 2019 will be America .

i wonder what happens to the bikes not sold? do they send them back to the factory :)

My two nearest dealers seem to be going against this trend then! Sell every 1290GT they can get from KTM.

My dealer open about expected updates next year. New dash, switchgear very likely. Dont expect much more.

I called my dealer and i am in the market to sell my GT guess what KTM is shitting their selves and pushing KTM dealers to sell and finish the stock this year, as they start to throw in bags and touring kits. first time in my life , 2 dealers said to me they CANNOT TAKE super duke GT for PX as they have a few in their hands :/ thats sad. I put it up for £12k cant even sell it :) they give 9600 for Part exchange , this year the bike sales are %14 down. The bike i bought for £17800 with extras i can sell it for 12 let alone PX for 11K :(
so brother who ever your dealer is either they are lying or they have a very good sell team :)

I was offered £11k by gear4 last month for my GT with touring kit it had done 5k at the time, I've been to Spain since so there's a few more miles on the clock now, this px was against the new SAS however I was disappointed by the SAS.

Dont buy bikes like these, (or Multistrada/GS/high end bikes) and expect to recover most of the money a year later. It aint going to happen. Just the same with cars.
Your getting a new and shiney bike with full warranty and breakdown cover. Price includes 20% vat contribution for the Goverment to piss up against the wall as well.
So come the time to trade in they can only offer what they are worth minus some profit for them, sadly it will be way less than the full purchase price.

If you want to recoup money you need classics, or modern classics like BMW HP2 etc. Otherwise its just part of the price of biking and running new bikes.

Modern bikes arnt no investment. The leftover 2016 1100 Tuono Factories have been reduced by $4000, the sports model 1000cc Aprilia Factories reduced over $5500, whats that going to do to the price of a second hand low milage aprilia. Theres a Factory Tuono here foresale, 1 year old, and
$11,000 less than a new one. At least the KTMs have a better resale value than many other makes. So you sell the GT, take a hit, but what do you buy, best to pick up a second hand low milage bike that some ones already taken a hit on. Happy shopping :?
2016 1290GT-remus link and muffler, 2010 Black 1200 Multistrada full Termi system with mapping, 2005 SMR 640, full Titanium system, Mikuni flatside racing carb, 2 sets of wheels, 18 litre tank, and a nice soft seat.

Yeah, ;) ;) , and if they aren't selling GT's, what are all the 'new introduction' guys riding?.... (biggest impediment to GT sales would be the high price, and the upgrades that are coming next fy.......might be some great run-out deals on 017 GT's coming soon to a dealership near ewe......??)

I'm happy with my GT......haven't come across anything that offers performance and comfort with decent fuel range and light weight......except for the 1290SA-Sport ;) ....... only racked up 7,600kms so far so time will tell, but it's looking good so far!

I've cured my difficulty reading the menu screen in certain light conditions by acting my age and wearing my old reading glasses......they don't interfere with my good long distance vision and boost my instrument distance vision to acceptable levels.......but the TFT screen on the new model is the best  ;)

Why do you think is bike sales down in UK? Here in Estonia it's seems to be new boom, local dealer can't put bikes together in the pace that they are going out. They are recording their best year almost 3 years in the row. Is it brexit or are we just booming and trouble is in the horizon?

i don't think any dealer selling GT's that much. There is no way , i am in the market to change my bike for about couple of months and been to many dealers in and outside London the result are similar, as soon as i say i have a GT to px they tell me they have to get back to me after they speak with their buyers, some of them come back with ridiculous offers like £9000 and some of them doesn't even offer anything .

honestly who ever thinking the GTs are selling so well and their dealer cant have enough to sell, they are kidding their selves. Apparently the market is slow at the moment specially in uk, and dealers doesn't want to get bikes which they cant sell on very easy.

2018 new Gt coming , 2017 stock is still not been sold enough, 2017 stock has 0% apr finance + touring kit. There are not many second hand GT's in the market in UK but this makes me wonder too

i paid £17400 to my bike with extras ofcourse i am going to lose a big chunk i am no fool about that but there is a value which a bike with 7000 miles would have and its not £9000. i am expecting in between £10.500 and £11.500 which is very reasonable, any dealer can sell a GT to £13K for sure , the bike holding that value well. Its just dealers wants easy money, just like banks and just like stock market people. they dont want to work for it.

Even with the problems I've had with my 2016 I'd buy another new SD-GT in a heart-beat but only if it had conventional suspension.

I can't remember exactly what he said but Aussie Dave made the best summary of the bike for me when he said something like "its a sport bike with touring suspension". Choosing a bike is about finding the best compromise and I can see some riders liking the suspension for its adaptability, but its not for me. I won't be spending any money to improve this bike till it gets a few more miles on it and I gain more confidence in its reliability. Then I'll put all of my efforts into trying to find a way to improve the feel of the suspension before I do anything with the engine performance which I think is excellent anyway.

Theres one trick I'm going to try Allan. I like to have my sus set in rider with luggage, as this gives more preload, but the down side is, it speeds up the rebound making it feel a little pogo-ie. now the pre load only alter when you change mode while stationery. So i will set Sport-sus, with rider and luggage, this will give me the preload I'm after, then once moving i will change it to rider only. This way i will have the comp and reb settings for single rider, but preload for rider plus luggage.........OK i know. once I'm stopped it will alter the preload back, but in the meantime I've got a mode and setting that may be perfect........ill report back, we have a fine weather forecast for this weekend. (oh PS Allan, the electronic suspension on my multistrada, is fantastic) (Ohlins with SCU)

This topic is bit of a concern to me having just agreed a price to buy a new 2017 GT.
When I read about the possible upgrades for the 2018/19 model I had an immediate wait till then reaction.
Then I thought hang on a minute that's over 12 months away!
I'm going to carry on with the buy.

Ktm 0% finance?? Anybody know how I would apply for that?

Did not mean local dealer is selling GTs so much, just overall everything. Meaning bike sales are up considerably.

Cheers Mick........I agree, 12 months for a rumoured TFT dash upgrade.......the existing dash is good enough, but the TFT (if it's the same as the SA-S adjustable dash) would be a really nice thing to have.....but a lot can happen in 12 months........a good friend was recently diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer and has maybe a month or two to live.......what a bummer.....he is now too sick to ride and coffee "tastes like shit" .....so get that Gt and live....... ;)

Talked with dealer when my sdr was in service. His personal opinion was that KTM might not upgrade the GT at all and will phase it off like RC8. Reason being that they just haven't sold enough of them. Lot of stock is still unsold and even with serious discounts from the factory (resulting the huge drop in aftermarket) it's hard to move them. Just his gut feeling, nothing official by any means.
