Phone storage, KTM my ride

Post by vet57air » Mon Nov 11, 2019 4:33 pm

Just traded in my 2016 GT for the 2019 GT. What is with the dedicated phone storage compartment size. Great idea but It is tiny. Has anyone been able to store their phone in there and if so what phone?
Also has anyone got experience with the KTM my ride app? Reviews?

The reviews are shit on the app. I am thinking about just getting a holder and using google maps. My iphone xsmax does not fit in the compartment but I think i am just going to route a usb cable to my tank bag and charge in there or on the phone mount.

So I splurged and popped $11 for the App. Bought a Yideng headset on Amazon for $65. Paired my phone and headset to my 19 GT and I now have Navigation and tunes. Will try the phone function once I get the bike on the road in another month or so when it stops raining.

Please keep us posted. Are you able to load a destination and get turn by turn instructions with the app?

Is it correct that spotify doesn't play through the app?

Can't say I have tried. No problem playing from play list on my phone. Keep in mind you are pairing your phone and your headset o the bike with KTM my ride tieing it together. Not sure how well other apps will interact

My samsung phone fits in the pocket okk.
I bought the app but
a: cant get it to sync with the bike
and
b: it kills the battery on my phone, in fact the phone gets warm when I activate it, then I have to force it to stop

Did you activated Bluetooth on the bike and your phone?
Phone getting warm because it is being charged by bike?

Yes I activated the blootooth, the phone seemed to get warm because of the app running it wasn't even plugged into a charger

Went for a ride today. Took a phone call, while listening to tunes. Worked well. For the $76 invested, pretty happy.
