Okay so as I have mentioned on some other threads here I am picking up 2017 SD GT tomorrow and I of course have been reading the "teething" threads - So should I have coolant hose and fuel hose issue looked in to before I bring bike home (dealer is 180 miles away) so it's not like I can easily pop in whenever and is there anything else I need to address
Fingers crossed I have had many many new bikes over the years with very few issues so hopefully I am one of the lucky ones
If I one of the lucky ones AllanP I'll buy you that beer as I'm here in Texas too

Re: New Bike
G'day Steve57........all you need to do is have a casual glance at the water pump/coolant hose and you are good to go.
Every other 1290/1190 whatever that I have spied has a normal looking hose......it was just mine that had a dodgy looking half scalped hose - which after replacement, was actually fine by me - just nobody could say 'it'll be alright....don't worry about it' when I enquired if it was a problem.....
So it's not a common issue.....in fact it was probably only my GT that had the odd formed hose....
The fuel line will most probably be replaced at pre-delivery - just ask if your new GT is on the list and has it been done already.......it won't cause you any grief until the first oil service at 620mls.
Some of the punters on the forum have had their nickers in a knot about the front forks, but my experience has been that yes they feel firm from 0-300mls but they soften up......especially if you dial up the rear spring from solo to 1+lge.......I think the rear is a bit too softly sprung on solo, and this translates to making the front feel too firm (esp when brand new). My Gt is nothing different to anybody else's and it has become one super comfy mile muncher with no mods required.....just 1+lge spring selected.....too easy....
Oh, the fork seal weeps are (almost certain...but will know tomorrow) just grit trapped in the dust seals and causing a vertical score on the fork tube that then lets a minimal weep out......fixed (I hope) on mine with a small cross hatch by wet-n-dry and my chunky looking stubbie holder stone/bug deflector covers.
Now 12hrs to wait till morning and ride time......
........you'll love this bike.....

Re: New Bike
Ok when I picked up bike I confirmed fuel hose had been replaced
I put 307 miles on her yesterday and everything was fine - bike is a blast to ride so really happy with the bike
I did have low tire pressure warning come on (I checked tire pressure before I rode but dont normally ride with this high tire presures) so I added a few psi and all good. Can these pressures be reset in computer so I can run lower psi if I wanted ?
