New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Post by Yoozy » Wed Apr 13, 2016 7:46 am

Right chaps. After ridiculing the GT for many months and the swiftest about turn known to man after seeing one in the flesh I have to have one. I loathe to px the Smt as I really love it, I do, it's true,,, but my riding has changed with more distance and motorway work, plus I'm getting older and softer

So, I have a test ride booked, irrelevant really. Thing is I'm already hearing daft stuff, some true as I got told the same thing.
Test ride booked but I can't actually go out on it as the screen didn't come with the bike. If anyone has ordered one, just picked one up, just getting to know it can you put your experiences down for us please. It'd be good to know what's going on before we blow a huge pile of dough on it.

;)

I have mixed feelings about the GT. I think it will be a great bike none the less. However, like the superduke, I'd get fed up with the traction control / anti wheely systems. If only they made it all adjustable on the fly like bmw. :(

Totally agree mate, the electronics package needs to be updated......BMW/Ducati/Aprilia...it's not like they even have to design one, just copy one of those :D

Jeez, I can understand Japanese better than this sometimes!

Thought you were a hardcore SMT man, can't believe you're thinking of deserting. But then I guess, nothing is forever?

I'd be interested to hear how bad the turbulence is that's created by the windshield - I've read a couple of reviews where the reviewer suggests this is annoying. Here is one of the reviews: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/motorcy ... gt-review/

any first hand experience would be great, cheers, Hamish

Deliberating parting with the Smt is the hardest biking decision I've ever had. I don't think I can do it.

I've my bike with screen but i'm waiting for panniers and black akrapovic (estimated delivery date: 21st/may).

Be careful cleaning the screen because you can scratch it really easily.

The screens arrived but without fixings  apparently they're the same kit as one of the others so no big deal.
