Ooops...... ...... jfink has spotted my fat fingered typo.... ........ quite right sir - we jokingly pronounce it as 'Tukson'......so how could I get that spelling wrong........... GT is so much easier to spell 8-)

Should have ridden to an old farts car & bike show this morning.....but it was just too darn humid to slide a lid over my head....... oh well, still 2 days left on this long weekend, so lets hope we get a southerly change and some cool riding temps ;)

Ps just for info (I know - it's not a Gt...) but that Blue Whale ...errr Tuck-son thingy is telling me it does 14km/ltr in light city traffic (today is like a Sunday as it's our Aust Day P-hol).......and it has only 1000kms on the clock...... :D.....very impressed with the Direct Injection and 6 speed auto technology.....for a car......but it can't do involuntary wheelie's like the Kato......Cheers from sweat-city!

I wouldn't fit that COG, your not ready, you need to mount it on your mantel piece, and just stare at it in wonder of what it would be like.  Ha Ha, well done Dave, enjoy the new rev happy beast

Cheers mate......job done already......what a snap......one thing I spotted while playing mechanic was that the pretty side goes to the inside (must be an Austrian thing.....always functional, no need to look pretty...ya ya).

I nearly got caught, but double checked the marks on the oem 38t and the 13mm nuts were on the plain side and the carrier scrub marks were on the machined side.......had a look down the chain while rolling the wheel and all is aligned with the front so I'm stoked :D

 Groaaan, it's 6.15am Sunday (   ) here in BrisVegas Aus.......and it's still raining and cold compared to a few days ago (extremely hot n sweaty.....)......missed the Super Blood Blue Moon event due to cloud ( I'll catch it again next time - in 400 years eh? ) and haven't ridden either mechanical monster in 2 weeks........ oh well, at least there is the Bathurst 12hr telecast today........ ;)

Was watching a doco on TV last night about the 1969 moon landing (seen it b4 but well worth the re-watch). They were brave (or very daring) guys.....can't imagine I would ever sit on top of a 3,000 ton firecracker that could go 'bang' at any time (or shake itself to bits attempting to escape the atmosphere)......and then sit in a cramped cold cabin for 340,000kms before taking a flimsy ride down to a dead surface, with every possibility the lift engine might not fire when it's time to go home....... .....still, they did it and got back......they had a vision in those days......and enthusiasm........we've got our GT's....sort of the same....eh?

Cheers from the drizzly brown land on the other side of the 3rd rock from the sun... ;)

We have had a 2 month heat wave here Dave (25-30C) but then a tropical storm came through and washed out roads to where we are heading monday morning, The Fox Glacier road and the Haast Pass have massive slips, so thats thrown a spanner in the works, accommodation booked also at Haast, so going to have to wing it, and hope theres some beds available. but the good thing is after the storm temps have returned to normal 22-25c, so easy to sleep and more comfortable to ride, and its sunny. But ferry crossing (Cooks Straight) looks interesting with strong winds predicted on monday. Oh well the best laid plans can change. This will be my first big trip on the GT, done a few 4-5 day rides, but this will be a 2 week test, I'm all packed and itching to go. :P

Best wishes Dave'o......make sure you tie that weapon down on the ferry (in 1st gear so it can't rock off the side stand).

Hope the south Is. road crews clear the slides in time - plenty of great local beer avail to help with any issues ;)

Hey DaveNZ
We are still heading down to Haast.
some guys are staying in Franz because of bookings. And a the rest of us in Haast.
Part of the road around Haast is single lane.
Tuesday will be a bit 🌧but Wednesday on its 🌞
Hopefully most of the backlog of tourists have gone and they have re stocked the beer fridge.

I opted for a front 16 sprocket and are happy with this option.Maybe next time I will give to 40 rear a go.
Freight kills the items down here in NZ

Anyway Dave, hopefully your NI team have a great ride down.If you don't go var the west coast.Make sure you head though var Tekapo

Hopefully we will catch up

Cheers 🍻

Hi all,

Got the chance to test ride the 40T rear sprox this morning before the temps hit 35C (well, it was at 35.5C as I left to ride home so it was still nice while I was moving......).

That 40T gives me the 250rpms I wanted to keep the motor in it's sweet spot while in traffic and juggling speed limits and morons......so a big thumbs up on that.....no penalty at highway speeds.....makes GT nicer - but still quick.....amazing....... :D

Also had the time to take the Blackbird for a 30min 6am spin on local (1km away) foreshore tourist route....

Tide was in, so it looked fabulous.....must do this more often........ Lots of people about, jogging walking, struttin their stuff... ;) .....just not when I snapped the shot..

Good report.

I'm getting closer to getting my bike....if they keep their promise this time. It is supposed to be at the dealer Tuesday. This weekend is a rainout so I'm not too upset except that I could be out in garage setting up a few farkles that I have to add.

Did a little sight seeing, but i was mainly there for the ride, i didn't hang around Invercargill for long (half a day) i headed to a mates who lives in the Catlands, and i did that whole road twice, but my favourite road was the road to Milford, what an incredible road, even the cop was charitable, letting me off a ticket for 138K

Ok, received my GT Brembo and fuel pump official recall notice and they are ordering in the parts from KTM, so I'll get that done when the bits are in.

Doesn't look like anybody else has been doing much here either...... :P

Haven't been riding much (weather is shite - but not as horrible as in the Euro zone  ) but also I've been a bit ill at times which has robbed me of the few days when I could have enjoyed some riding - BUT - at last I've had a diagnosis so I'm confident with my health again!

Hope no body else ever gets vasovegas presyncope symptoms.......it's taken 8 months to finally get a diagnosis at the loss of the spring-summer riding season and 5000kms I should have enjoyed on the GT

Anyway.....it's still super humid and trying to rain water on our miserable heads.....shouldn't complain, it's not below freezing... ;) ......and my GT is out there waiting to go as always :D

Here's looking to the weekend.......it's time to ride :!:

We are having our hottest summer on record Dave, I'm off again for an IMOC ride, taking the Multistrada this time. Hope you get over these health issues soon buddy, still plenty of riding season left.
