Preload Adjuster Motor Failure?

I had my 2016 stall out a few weeks ago. When I cranked it back up the screen was blank. A few minutes later I filled up with gas. Screen came back to life, but with a new error message... "Preload Adjuster!" Took it to the dealer when the error message did not go away and the corresponding suspension adjustments were not operating. Bad news from the dealer... "the bike is going to need the shock preload adjustment motor... the part is $711.00." Then labor, of course to install. Anyone else have a failure like this? I love the sophistication of the electronics on this machine but I am out of warranty now with 34,000+ miles on the bike and wonder if I should be prepared for more expensive repairs down the line?
