New owner here!

Post by Rider » Mon Jan 08, 2018 10:40 pm

Hi All,
After all the threads on various forums and going back and forth between the XR1000, I picked up my new 17 GT Friday. I really love the big Vtwin, but I can see I’m gonna be busy accerizing her for wet, and cold commutes.

Welcome in advance Rider....... oddly enough the Gt keeps me dry due to the shape of the tank and the height (I think) - my boots are goretex but they don't seem to cop much spray from the front wheel.

Cold climates will make you want a taller screen like the Pooo-ig (there are a few to choose from now and I just saw some pics in this thread somewhere- ahhh, try reading the Madstad thread in "Accessories"). I've got the Puig, and for my 5' 9.5" body it works well. The OEM screen also works well but your head is in open airstream - not so nice when cold/wet.

Cheers from Aus........not many sleeps to go before your GT is ready 8-)

Thanks Aussie,
Good to hear the boots don’t get soaked. My GS maybe sticking around for rain days. When moving only the outside of my knee’s and arms get wet in the light rain we usually get around here.
I bought a Madstad off a fellow member, so that may change.. :?:
