Wellcome DE, hope you like your GT, and have many save and reliable miles. PS, the suspension softens up with milage. Enjoy, Dave.

Greetings Dewayne of Slocomb USA.........they have some go tucked into that motor eh! :D

Some folk have had grumbles and gripes, but my GT (2017 = looks just like yours) has been a joy to own and ride.

Cheers from the other Great Southern Land (left of the shaky isles DaveNZ calls home ;) ).

Aussie Dave and Bruce Wayne thanks for the replies. Just took her in for 1st services and told tech about a noise I was hearing when starting a few times not every time. When tech went to start it made the noise (thank god) and he stated that a gear in starter was prob bad and had same problem on a couple of RC8s. Have you heard of this ??

Welcome DE and congrats ! I'm loving mine and in next couple weeks heading to Colo, Utah and points unknown for a two week trip

And no I haven't heard anything on starter issue you mentioned and I have an RC8 also - maybe someone will chime in soon

Love the t-shirt as I watched the Haydens grow up roadracing as I road raced from 1985 to 1995 and they came to Texas to race regularly

Steved57 I got to see Nicky race in Germany in 2006, he was one of the few riders that put on a show during practice and qualifying. I wish I could have went to KY for his tribute ride he is and will be one of the best. My wife and I want to do a ride Colo one day maybe soon

G'day D-E, sorry for slow reply.......no I've not heard the delinquent starter noise - only the exhaust valve check noises, then boom rumper rumper rumper....

Love my Gt......all that go power and plenty of leg room and comfort and 400+kms fuel range.... :D

Hope your mech gets right on to yours and clears the issue quickly so you can enjoy that machine.. ;)

While he is operating on your Gt.......ask him to kill the low tyre pressure warning (but keep the TPMS system active).....so you can elect to run lower pressures than the oem factory 36f 42r which is really over the top unless you are two up and fully loaded at all times. The Angel Gt's won't wear out too quickly at lower psi's and will hang on a bit better in nasty weather when riding solo unloaded. ;)

Congratulations and welcome to the board. This is a known problem and my 2016 had it too. The noise was quite loud but intermittent on start-up and is caused by the torque limiter in the starting system. KTM USA pointed out the likely source of the problem to my dealer and sent a replacement part. Replacing the torque limiter eliminated this and it has not come back in 3000 miles.
