KTM For the first time

Post by luismna » Sun May 07, 2017 12:51 pm

Hi Guys,

just wanted to say HI!

I am Portuguese, but living and working in Switzerland. So, yes, the Swiss, Italian and French Alps are my playground :D

I recently purchased a SDGT. It has currently 1.4 K km on the ODO. Despite small teething problems (MTC Failure that I solved with a minor tweak on the servo cable) I am loving the bike.

Already has some extras:

- Touring Kit
- Akrapovic muffler
- Evotech goods (crash pads, tail tidy, Front and back spindle, Radiator guard, frame cover grill, exaust hanger blanking, handle bar weights)

Joined here to discuss a bit about our bike and if someone is around lets go for a ride.

Cheers and ride safe!

Luis

Welcome sounds like you are in motorcycle heaven with that well set up bike. Just curious what did you do to fix the MTC failure? I had the same problem that kind of went away on its own.
Good luck, have fun, and don't break anything

I took out the akrapovic can allowing me to see the valve and put I a bit of WD40 in the valve holders (where it rotates inside). But the main effect was to tighten a bit the nut of the upper cable.

This video was posted by one of the users in this forum and allowed me to understand where the problem came from.

I apologize for my poor technical english :)

Welcome luismna - from the other side of the 3rd rock from the sun..... ;)

Hey, you might not know this but..... lucky the KTM servo cables can be tweaked by the owner - my previous bike (a Caponord1200TP) had to have the official Aprilia software plugged in just to set the exhaust valve to the correct start position......no chance of the owner adjusting those cables without throwing up an error code!

Thank the stars KTM are not Italian..... ;)
