Ferries booked!

Post by Loomster » Fri Mar 10, 2017 6:16 pm

Taking the GT down to Majorca in July..Poole-Cherbourg then ride down to Barcelona for the Majorca ferry.
I will probably take in the Pyrenees on the way back as I have nearly four days to make the return ferry at Cherbourg.
I have done the motorway schlepp quite a few times in the car but won't be doing that on the GT if at all possible. If anyone has any tips for stopovers, nice routes etc please feel free to advise me, you can never have too much information on trips like these.
Can't wait for this one. :P

Amen to that. I did most of the N-260 one way a few years ago* and I've got a trip from Calais to Santander via the Costa Brava pencilled in for July that'll see me do the whole lot in the opposite direction. Well surfaced, properly three-dimensional, it was where I found out what'd touch down on the SMT first, the panniers or my feet.
