3rd Thread: I picked it up!

Post by RDKLL » Sat Jan 14, 2017 1:00 am

Wife carried me to the dealer to pick up our GT and in my haste, I forgot my gloves...I was ready to buy a pair but they didnt have any that fit and then I remembered the heated grips. Awesome ride home, I even had to turn them down because they were so hot. Hear are a couple of pics with it parked in the garage.

Is led indicators non regulation in your home town ? I always think conventional bulbs are so last year and not as bright.

My 1290GT came via the USA, and was an american model, and came with the bulb rear indicators, and all the smog shit, the smog shit has gone (Rottweiler) but I'm yet to change the the bulbs, if i go down the path of a tail tidy, i may have to get the LED indicators.

Dave,
So you are able to run the DRL (I think a pretty cool feature) in New Zealand?
I was able to take a picture of the DRL in full dark of the garage. I think the sensor did not pick up that the light was off.

Yes RDKLL, i can, and funny enough i never new till 2 days back, i pulled into my bike room (Dave's man cave) and i knoticed the light changed intensity, it was flicking between the LEDs full, then dimming them and turning on the head light, the amount of light in the bike room must have been on that change over. I never new or noticed perviously. So the LEDs act as driving lights during day light hours?? and then when the available light drops, the main head light turns on. and is that called DRL.?

North American spec bikes get nonLED indicators....sigh, bulbs. I bought the EVOtech tailtidy and found my bulb type rear indicators were too wide to fit between the bags. Called EVOtech and Garry said he would look in to. Never heard from him, so I had to buy the Euro LED turn indicators. The LED turn indicators are about an inch shorter than the bulb type.
