Tank bag

Post by JJay51 » Mon Jul 13, 2015 9:02 am

If you're looking for a nice little tankbag that fits the sloped tank of the 1190 adv's then i would recommend the 3ltr Shad E04 bag, base stays on the bike and the filler cap is accessible when you unclip the front clips on the bag, looks good, much better than the hideous ones that lock to the fuel cap ring.

Nice. What else do you have for luggage?

I've just bought a x30 tail pack from Oxford. It's a great bit of kit but not as big as I'd hoped 30ltr would be. Thinking of selling it before I use it and reclaim some coin.

Hi Jay,

Bringing up an old thread. Do you still have the tank bag above? How is it fairing? I'm currently looking for one for quick access to camera, documents etc.... And preferably to fit an A4 map in the top. Will the one you have fit an A4 map? It does look neat. How is it for fitting and removal? Easy to fuel up while fitted?

Cheers.

Hi Nick, yes i still have it, in fact i just refitted it for this years trip, its a good size but you wont fit an a4 map in the top pocket as its for a phone so is only just bigger than a large phone, its still going strong and filling up is easy must unclip two quick release buckles to drop it back onto the seat then fit and clip them together again.
Shad also do a larger tank bag that fits the same base.

http://www.shad.es/en/shad-world/produc ... 3/c70r151/

And this 4ltr one may fit the adv tank shape, the e-04 i have isnt listed for the adv but fits well nevertheless

http://www.shad.es/en/shad-world/produc ... m/c70r145/

Actually looking at the dimensions it seems the 4ltr one is only 1cm longer than my 3ltr one so should look ok, you could always move the securing clips further toward the seat as there is a lot of adjustment in them

One of the cheapest places to buy
3ltr one

4ltr one actually cheaper than the 3ltr :o BUT ONLY COMES WITH THE MAGNETIC MOUNT OPTION
http://www.motoblouz.co.uk/tank-bags-sh ... 646-v.html

Buy both  and use the base from the 3ltr on both
