PC3 removal

Post by Koops » Sat Mar 18, 2017 10:07 pm

Had my 2007 990 Adv 6 months, ridden 2000 miles commuting through winter. Last week started missing occasionally, then almost unrideable. Connected TuneECU: no fault codes, all tests seem ok.
Bike has a PC3 that was mapped on a dyno and the bike has been very smooth to ride. Decided to remove PC3 in case it was faulty. Figured out how to remove tank to access ECU connectors (big grey connector), and removed the PC3 connectors. Noticed a bit of moisture in the connector so believe that was the culprit. Bike restarted fine without pc3 and warmed up on stand, no hint of misfire. Now my dilemma. I know my insurance was hiked because of the pc3. Can I use the map from the pc3 and load it to the std ecu using TuneECU? The SAS is still std, the o2 connectors have the dummy plugs fitted. What should I set in TuneECU to replicate the smooth running I get with pc3? Forgot to mention bike has Ti Akra slip-ons. Cheers for any guidance. Graham
