Service code question

Post by Jonesy » Mon Jul 04, 2016 5:53 pm

I have a 2015 1190 and had dealer install KN air filter last year with basic service.
Being that I live in the country and ride gravel roads every day I got the KTM air socks also.
This weekend I went to clean the air filter and install the socks.
Pretty straight forward. I have always worked on my own bikes and if I don't have to go to dealer I don't.
Done and tightened back up, go to start bike and now I have a service code on dash.
Called dealer and he said normal just needs to be cleared with scan tool.
Is there a way to clear this code myself without bringing into dealer every couple thousand kms?
BTW no stray dust in the factory air box past the filter on my 2015.And I drive a real dusty road.
I look forward to any info.
Thanks

I'm not sure if the TUNEECU cable works with the adventure bikes but if so you can use it to clear codes. I know it works with the 990's just not sure with the adventures.

So I looked and the Super adventures don't work with TUNEECU.

Turn on the bike.
Press the UP/DOWN buttons together.
You will get a screen that you can reset your service.
Better instructions are out there on the interwebs.
No scan or computer needed.

That worked awesome. Did have to try a few times as I kept kicking myself out of the screen. But then the ah ha moment happened and the service months got rolled forward and the light went and stayed out.
Thanks so much. :D
