It's not fork failure, it's the valves chattering on some bikes. It has been known about since the bike was first released.

That says it ktm. It is a lie .

Why not does it with 2 people ???

KTM are changing the right fork cartridge warranty in the USA.

Look at the post that I sent to the end.

The right fork cartridge It is wrong.

Cartridge reference is the 2016 model.

The reference 2015 is 48SAF1O26R . The reference 2016 is 48SAF1P26R

I noticed my front end clanking from day one (dec2015) and notified my dealer , they never even looked into the problem because there where so many other issues going on with my brand new bike . I just recently did a Texas to California trip and the front end was clanking the whole time , I notified my dealer again and this time I was told that they were going to replace the cartridge ! Ugh !!! What a fun bike , but so many issues that I'm now debating on selling it .

I am well aware of the post I contributed to it. It's something you don't like, it isn't a failure. As I said before show me where someone has fallen off because of it. A failure is when something has broken and failed. This isn't the case here. Like I said you don't like it and that is fair enough but it hasn't failed, it's the way it is.

In the 2015 model makes Clunck in the fork. It is not normal.
In the 2016 model fork it is normal. No Clunk.
Why they change the 2 cartridge of the fork in the model 2016? Because they are not good in the model 2015.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 and BMW R1200GS LC have semi-active suspension front.
They are perfect. PERFECT.
None of the 2 makes Clunk.
None of the 2 has the feeling loose pipe direction. Only the KTM 1290 SAdv 2015.
That is normal ?
Me and many many more think not.
Do not understand why you defend the indefensible.
Only for curiosity , do you sell KTM motorbikes ???
Regards

No I don't sell ktm. It's your use of "failure" that really pisses me off! Failure is if they snapped or something. This simply isn't the case! Surely by your own standards if all 2015 forks clunk then it must be normal? Like I said you don't like it and that fine by me go get it fixed but the sensationalist headline is just a joke!

Sure you think so because you do not have a KTM 1290 Super Adventure 2015.
I do not think the problem is to take it as a joke.
It is a very serious problem.
Thee seem normal that the right cartridge of the fork to be decompressed it lock and suddenly drop ???
That's what produces the clunck in the fork. You seems normal ???

I've tried contacting someone at KTM technical support for the last 8 days , I've left detailed messages including phone number and vin # . No response !!! The dealership I bought he bike from is awesome , but they can only do so much ! and honestly I'm just getting tired of the issues I've had with this bike , and I can't help to wonder what the next problem will be .
(1) The first week I bought the bike I noticed the 12v socket fuse was blown . I replaced fuse . (2)A few days later I start my bike up and display says " FAILURE " my fuse for my electronic suspension was blown ? I replaced the fuse .
(3) at around 500 miles I noticed an oil leak and took the bike to the shop . They attempted to fix leak which looked like it was coming out of a case bolt .
(4) it was recommended to replace the factory air filter because of a known poor design (leakage )
(5) I brought the bike home from the dealer and test rode to find out it still had a oil leak .
(6) I attempted to tighten bolt that was supposed to be leaking oil ( it still leaked oil )
(7) I took the bike back to the shop and after finally taking pictures of the area of the oil leak , they were able to blow the pictures up and find that it was actually a defective engine case (hair line cracks , 3 of them )
(8) new motor ! My dealer and myself thought it was best not to rebuild motor on brand new bike that only now had 700 miles on it
(9) complained about front end clank and speed wobble ! Shop mentioned possible loose head bearing
(10) factory panniers not closing easy . Excessive slamming and hitting to try to make latches close .it takes around 10 slams and and punches to get latches to lock ( already have dings and dents in panniers due to trying to close them .
(11) gas gauge stuck on full ! Left me stranded in the middle of nowhere .
(12) starter binds up while engaging and makes a loud squeal ( 4-5 separate times ) this issue was fixed with the new motor .
(13) chain excessively loud from factory ( I oiled and adjusted ) fixed
(14) currently waiting for new fork cartridge to come in so we can schedule bike to go back to shop again !
Every time this thing has to go to the shop I have to load this 500+ lb beast into my truck and drive 45-60 min .

I also have the same fuel gage problem. Always reads full until almost empty, sometimes just keeps reading full, range 480 miles, as I run out gas in the middle of nowhere also. Dealer flashed computer with new data to make sure it knows it is a ktm 1290 super adventure 2015 and not on the meter system with liters, but still the problem persists. After reading your post I am motivated again to go back to the dealership and keep at it until they fix it. For now, I just use my trip meter a d fuel at 250 miles less but I would like the fuel gage I paid for when bought the bike to work as it is supposed too.

So far everything has been covered under warranty . I am currently waiting for the fork cartridge which when I spoke with KTM corporate they had no idea of the availability . The KTM rep said " you can order a piston for a 1985 ktm but it doesn't mean that it will ever arrive " ,,,, not too assuring ! I was also promised new panniers with new upgraded locking mechanism and a new fuel gauge float

My local shop told me to pull out the float and grind it on the pavement or a rock to take the edges off ! I was stranded on the side of the road in New Mexico out in the middle of nowhere so I said NOPE !!! The float slide is square and the track is square so they are saying that if you top off your fuel tank it will cause an air pocket and the float will stay at the top position due to suction . KTM corporate says that they have a fix " a new designed float " again the question is how long will it take to get it ?
