I just registered to the sight after finding it on ADV. Glad I did as a new 1190R owner. Bought mine last Thurs. Coming from 83000miles on a GS Adv. Wow is this bike different and FUN!

Can't believe KTM produced such a product to have this much error in a speedo - that's a recall item - one would think....but typical, some really smart Motohead finds a fix and makes these great things to make our bikes better, in spite of the manufacturer. Thanks Kev!
That's why Rip-off-tech is in business and a whole bunch of other companies peddling farkles. I want to know who's the idiot designer who made the tiny footpegs? Really? has he ever ridden off road before?...
Same goes for the stock handle bar setting - it's so low.
It's amazing to me all the stuff you need to add - about $2500-3000 in add-ons. Skid plate, airbox, bar risers, foot pegs, panniers, side stand footprint thing (REALLY? you build a fantastic off road bike and put a tiny footprint...really?) and the list goes on.... it's fun to personalize, but there's so many stupid manufacturer things wrong....and we buy them anyway.
Replied to you PM, all I need is an email address so I can send an invoice.

Hi Kev, I just saw this thread. I own a 2015 1190R (21" front, 18" rear and KMH speedometer) and need to know if you can send the rings to Chile (South America). If so, please let me know to send you my emails for the payment.

Best regards,

Alberto Morales

hi just found your thread on the speedo correction, am l right in assuming the speed is read off the ring and if so by changing the counter shaft sprocket from a 17 to a 16 would have no bearing on the read out .

That is correct, the wheel speed to Speedo is off the front ABS ring.

I still have a few of these rings left if anyone wants a set, Australian $110.00 + postage with tracking, just PM me your email address & I will send a PayPal invoice, postage to most of Europe is around $30.00, USA/Canada around $24.00.

Howdy folks.
Got plates from Kevxtx. Installed them with no hassles, even youtube'd the install partially.

Does correcting the speedo with these rings change the odometer readings? On my 690R, you could correct the circumference setting in the speedometer by clipping a wire and then changing the stock setting.

These 1290 & 1190's use the ABS square wave signal as a speedo signal, there is no analogy signal to the dash it is sent via CAN BUS, there is no know way of correcting this speedo at the moment besides these modified ABS rings.

The Odometer over reads on the 1290SD by +3.8% after fitting the rings the Odometer reads -4.7%

Just a few facts to add.
I have Kevs ABS rings.
Awesome job BTW Kev.
On the 1190 R over the last 2000k outback trip.

Speedo was 10% over, is now within 1-2% with a new tyre. Awesome!

The odometer was 5% over is now 3% under.

The L/100 figure was about 10% optimistic, is much more accurate, probably close to odometer error, but very close, confirmed with GPS and bowser figures over the last 2000k trip last week.

Distance to empty much more accurate as well, big help, especially where I travel having to carry extra fuel.

Thanks again Kev :thumb

Couldn't find anything, but have you considered making them for the 1290SA?
