New to KTM - service question

Post by Derrickm72 » Sat May 13, 2017 12:36 am

I'm totally new to the KTM world, I sadly admit I came from the harley davidson realm. I now own a '16 SA & so far I love it. I just hit the 1st service mark (630 miles I think). I plan on doing my services myself as I'm pretty mechanically inclined. I was just curious about the bike checks that are done with a diagnostic tool, I've seen a couple different laptop options & wondered if they are accurate / worthwhile? Also curious what if any warranty issues this may cause by doing services myself? Any and all comments welcome.

Derrick

There are no diagnostic tools for the SA outside of a KTM dealer. For the warranty it depends where in the world you are.

Sorry - I'm in the southeastern USA. If there no other diagnostics than the ktm & must have misread something. Which is totally possible.

US your good to go warranty wise.

There are tools for the older bikes but not for the 1xxx bikes unless something has happened very recently.
