Aftermarket LED signal light install

I have decided that the incandescent signal lights have no purpose on my modern bike so I decided to switch to LED. I have already switched to a custom LED integrated signal/brake light in the rear (can't recommend enough)

Note I already removed the spacer blocks on the original signal light stalks. When installing LED signal lights on our bikes you have to run a resistor in parallel or it will throw a trouble code.
The resistor you will need will be a 10W-25ohm (one for each signal light), Customled.com sells a nice prewired and insulated set if you cant source any yourself.

Having run cheap Chinese LED's before and having less than impressive results I decided to buy some brand name ones. I decided to go with the official ducati LED signal lights 966802X1A. I was going to originally going to go with the Euro spec'd LED signal lights that are stock across the pond since they have the resistors built in, but was having trouble sourcing them. It worked out better in the end because I prefer the look of the ducati and cost me less as well

I love the new look, LED's are just as visible as the old bulbs, lots of youtube videos showing comparisons of these signal lights on Ducati's if your curious.

Those look pretty good. I am surprised that cost less than EURO OEM. I got set for mine for $130 shipped (all 4 turn signals). I haven’t found Ducati pair for less than $90-$100.

Wow I could never find them as cheap as 130.00 for 4, never mind the outrageous shipping cost to Canada that was tacked on.

FYI the FHWSA are responsible for the USA not having allowed led turn signals on most bikes as well as the extensions that are often present.

The way the regulations were written (obviously in stone-age) there is a minimum distance required from headlight and taillight to the center of each turn signal illumination centers. I think it's 6" or somewhere near.
Also the brightest lumens of the signals MUST NOT be brighter than the lowest lumen output of the taillight or headlight. (EDIT: the output of regular running taillight without the brakes activated and low beam headlight are the benchmarks.)
THESE two factors are why MOST bikes sold elsewhere from USA, get led signals or flush mount signals (2004-5 Kawasaki ZX-10R immediately comes to mind) because the old turds in government are convinced the illumination of the taillight and headlight are much more important than the bright TELEGRAPH signals sent to other motorists that a motorcyclist intends to change lanes or turns, afforded by modern LED signals.

Haha glad I could help! It took me awhile to find those. You need to call them and ask for. Law is weird, I don’t see why they never shipped with those turnsignals which are better looking and brighter. I was reading the nhtsa.gov.... so confusing haha
