KTM powerparts ergo seat?

Post by megalord » Tue Apr 18, 2017 1:34 pm

Anyone know if this seat allows you to get your feet down easier? I've googled it and some say its narrower at the front, others say it adds to the seat height. I'm on tip toes with the current seat, wouldn't mind getting more foot contact with the ground.

I have it on mine and its far more comfortable but height wise seems the same to me. I am 5 11 32 inch inseam and cant touch flatfooted. Close but not flat. Great seat over stock!

Like NJD said: it's slightly taller, but narrower at the front.
I'm 5'10" and can't flatfoot it either, but I doubt I could've with the standard seat anyway.
But the whole bike is light enough that that's never a problem, and the seat is amazingly comfortable; I've done the same 1100km route on a sport-tourer and the SDR, and after getting off the 1290 I could literally have turned around and gone back, no problems. The higher seat actually helps on long rides, because you don't have to fold your legs up as much...

I have the SE model, and it comes with the Powerparts seat as standard, so I have never tried the original.

All I can say is that without exception, it is the most comfortable seat I have ever encountered in 49 years of riding. All day comfortable. I'm 5' 10 as well, and I can flat foot it. Must be all in the inside leg measurement.

I picked up the ergo seat and I've got about 100 miles on it so far. What I can say is that it's more comfortable but I noticed a negligible difference between seat height (i'm nearing being on the tips of my toes at 5'8) but I do feel like it is narrower so I can get slightly more of my feet on pavement.
