The adhesive sticks very well to the outside of the KTM bags and does't leave any residue if taken off. It's still only been a few days but so far it looks like it's gonna stay but when I take my first long ride I'll be taking some scissors and some more heat shield just in case.
Any pictures with with the thermo tape on the bag?

Not a very good angle but it's all I have ATM. Hope this at least gives you some idea of what it looks like. It's really not that noticeable and went on pretty easy as the wrap is fairly flexible.

Any issues with this? I'm thinking of doing the same.

Also interested to hear how your saddle bags have been holding up with the full Akra. As I am looking at going this route.

I like it I was wondering the same if it would work I might go with those bags now. With the bags are we still able to carry passenger? cause the only few times I will use them I will most likely be with my wife on the back

Update: I have about 1k miles with the bags on and they are fine. I keep a couple strips of that sticky heat shield in case some of it comes off because it will occasionally peal up on the corners sometimes but it hasn't been a problem yet. It really doesn't seem to get that hot anyway, it probably would even do much damage with out the heat shielding but I certainly wouldn't risk it.
