Front lens protector out there?

Post by exup » Fri Oct 03, 2014 7:37 am

Hi any one found a lens protector yet for the SDR? I always buy one for my bikes as I do a lot of miles out in the bush with my mates and get a lot of rocks and branches kicked up. They have saved many a front lens from being smashed. I have done a few trawls of Google but not much is being turned up.

Any tips?

Hi
I went through this as well. Ventura we're going to make one but because of the curved shape couldn't form it without it distorting. I ended up with a clear 3m headlight guard put on mine. Companies in Brisbane like Duco Scratch or Clear Armor. It would stop a average sized stone smashing the headlight but it could go through the plastic film and chip the light. Hope this info helps.

I found this one on eBay, I haven't ridden at night with it. But so far so good.

There are some very simple Perspex covers on eBay - clear or smoked and secured by a few small Velcro strips - simple to fit - easy to remove but won't dislodge at speed.

Any chance for additional pictures of that headlight protector. Google searches return the same picture over and over.

Looks like the actual headlight won't shine thru that (ceramic?) tint and that you're only getting the little LED strip to light your way. How'd night riding turn out?

Thanks Knack. Perpendicular (side) shot? Real close up to show how it sits over the headlight and orange side panels? Looks sweet. Do you like your Corbin gunfighter seat?
