If you install a de cat link pipe do you need an engine 're map as Well?, I have heard that these engines like a bit of back pressure!. Any advice welcome, cheers everyone.

Well just spoken to a KTM dealer and i would need a power commander fitted as the de cat link pipe will mess up the fuelling, so I'm not going to bother as it's loud enough with the AR stubby end can and no db killer, just asking for the Gendarmes to pull you here, plus I have neighbours, and one over the road can hear it being warmed up in driveway, and that's with a main road between us!! He wasn't complaining btw just telling me one day during a chat.

MOGAS, your dealer is like the one close to me where I bought mine, they gave the same BS to me. Pull the mid pipe and get a dealer to load part number KM613EU14E0531.BLZ which is the EVO map. I called another dealer 85 miles away that said no problem they would load the map and they did. Bike runs perfect. What you can't do is run the EVO map with the Cat installed. So remove it first if your riding it to the dealer you find that has some common sense and knows KTM's. By the way, they charged me only 60 dollars to load the map.

Mogas,

Mine is a 2015, I see yours is a 16 so maybe the map is a different part number? The thing that is also great with the Map is it lets you remove the SAS junk without throwing a code and needing a dongle for it. I am pretty sure a tuner will not do that for you? ;)

I have a 2016 SDR and run a decat link pipe (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/rem ... -2014-2018) and i don't have the akra remap or any remap for that matter.
Instead, I purchased the fueling dongles from Rottweiler Performance (http://www.rottweilerperformance.com/ro ... gles-pair/).

My bike has had no problems running this for about 2k miles.
Hope this helps

Hi,
{SD r 17}

In the summer i bought a Bodis decat, I fitted it an easy job, and it sure sounded the nuts and showing no faults, loved it but after the first run out to see what it was like I came back home with faults on the display that i could not get rid off.

mmm, phoned up Ktm and took to service dept they say needs a dyno so I reinstalled the cat to standard and in the summer this year I will seek advice and have it re fitted with a dyno and a power commander if needed.

Will post a message when this is done.............

I have Bodis on mine for 6 months now, maybe more. With it I removed this SAS system, and remapped it at KTM with Akra or EVO map . Without remaping was showing engine error with it it was gone. I do track days every other weekend throughout the year and it shows the difference. Less vibration from the engine, you gaina bit power better top end and loose a bit on the bottom end but all in all bike will be behaving better. If you didn't remove SAS i recommend to do so because it is screwing up air/fuel mixture .
KTM all the way! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
