Free Akra Can and Full Akra System

Post by KennyRogers » Wed May 10, 2017 1:47 am

So I got the free can when I bought the bike...but would like a full system. Can I buy just the headers and mid? Someone mentioned they have different diameters...is this true?

I see Arrow makes a de cat pipe. Can I just throw that on without a re-map? I am assuming the bike will become very loud if I do this.

I believe the slip on is a different type of fitting than the full system. The full system is a slip fit with springs, the slip-on is like one of those clamp fits or something. Don't think they are interchangeable.

I believe most decats made for this bike are designed to replace the stock cat, and should fit any slip-on that will fit on the stock exhaust. I think most people that do a de-cat try to get the Akra map loaded. You'll need a friendly dealer for that. Some are stubborn about "race bike" nonsense.

Yeah, it'll probably be pretty loud, but I think the Akra can does a lot of the sound deadening too. Probably not any louder than the full system with the baffle out. But just a guess.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why I never saw a full Akra system w/o the slip on. Usually you see exhausts sold as components.

I heard a full austin racing system a while back and I couldn't feel myself fart...I don't like attracting that much attention on the streets.

It was a promo at the dealership. I think because they were year end models they were trying to move.

Me to, the 2015's got a free can if bought in spring of 2016, but I had the same question since I now have a se and want the power without voiding the warranty.
Enjoy
