I'll try and see if my phone can pickup decent audio tomorrow

The link pipe is a collector that cancels out the higher pitched poppy sound and provides enough back pressure so that remapping is not necessary, pretty creative I think

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but how loud is this thing? Did you purchase the insert as well, if so how does that sound? How does it run with the stock map? Looking to pick one up myself.

Surely you need to remap the engine with this exhaust?

Competitionwerkes claims that it is not necessary, but that it could benefit from a remap. I've been running it since January with no remapping and it seems fine in that I haven't experienced any symptoms of it running too rich or lean. However, I have yet to run it on a dyno or anything to check if there is any performance loss.

I would contact competitionwerkes to verify though. They tend to be pretty responsive from my experience.

It's a little shorter, and a heck of a lot louder as it removes the cat.

Does the Comp Werkes exhaust eliminate the cat? Or does this simply slip on to the stock cat?

Completely eliminates it. The comp werkes includes two parts mid-pipe which replaces the cat and the exhaust.
